"Post-challenge thoughts. Upcoming things. HLC."
Transcripts [for context]:
[1:43:14 PM] Alex: HEY LOSERS
[1:43:21 PM] Heather Cameron: Alex!
[1:43:26 PM] Heather Cameron: don't be rude
[1:43:51 PM] samM: Ya Alex.
[1:44:09 PM] Alex: I was rude?
[1:44:19 PM] Alex: I'm sorry I stayed up 24 hours to make sure none of us went home.
[1:44:40 PM] Alex: Guess I am never doing that again since apparently there's no freedom of speech in this tribe.
[1:45:08 PM] Heather Cameron: four of you stayed up and you're the only one being cranky
[1:45:35 PM] Alex: true, vote me out plz
[1:45:44 PM] Alex: my mood swings are SO unbearable
[1:45:45 PM] Heather Cameron: what are you talking about?
[1:45:47 PM] Bailey VogtOut: NOOOOOOOO
[1:45:51 PM] Alex: omg BAILEY (heart)
[1:46:15 PM] Heather Cameron: why are you so moody today, Alex?
[1:46:39 PM] Alex: I'm not
[1:46:48 PM] Alex: I said "hey losers" and you told me off, which was very annoying
[1:47:09 PM] Alex: cause it was OBVIOUSLY a joke, since we DESTROYED the other tribes hence we are NOT losers
[1:47:42 PM] Heather Cameron: calm down.
[1:48:10 PM] Alex: I'm pretty calm.
[2:14:28 PM] Heather Cameron: FYI
[2:14:46 PM] Heather Cameron: I can't understand cues, sarcasm, or different emotions very well.
[2:15:00 PM] Alex: hm?
[2:15:11 PM] Heather Cameron: like when I thought you were trashing us
[2:15:16 PM] Heather Cameron: i didn't know it was sarcasm
[2:15:43 PM] Heather Cameron: so, sorry.
[2:17:40 PM] Alex: its fine, I wasn't being sarcastic as much as its just an expression
[2:18:05 PM] Heather Cameron: it's part of my disabilities...the not understanding sarcasm thing
[2:18:27 PM] Alex: you are truly a lovely person Heather, but sometimes you can be a little intolerant of the way others express themselves, so I appologize for flipping out, but I am still really tired from the challenge and it rubbed me the wrong way.
[2:18:36 PM] Heather Cameron: when I lived with roommates, they used it all the time so I would understand it.
[2:18:51 PM] Heather Cameron: I do apologize for that, sweets.
[2:18:54 PM] Alex: what disabilities do you have?
[2:18:58 PM] Heather Cameron: ADHD
[2:18:59 PM] Alex: dont worry about it, we are good
[2:19:04 PM] Heather Cameron: and Non Verbal Learning Disorder
[2:19:09 PM] Heather Cameron: one heck of a combo, eh?
[2:19:31 PM] Alex: I have never heard of non verbal learning disorder,
[2:20:18 PM] Alex: I am reading on it, it says that they are very common together
[2:20:18 PM] Heather Cameron: www.nldontheweb.org/
[2:20:23 PM] Heather Cameron: yup
[2:20:29 PM] Heather Cameron: only got properly diagnosed in 2009
[2:20:49 PM] Alex: do you know in what part of the spectrum you are?
[2:21:16 PM] Alex: It says that its similar to Aspergers, I had a couple of residents that had that, so I understand how difficult it can be in social situations
[2:22:23 PM] Heather Cameron: well...I am my own guardian, I have a driver's licence, no interest credit card, and wide range of independences.
[2:22:31 PM] Heather Cameron: does that help any?
[2:22:35 PM] Heather Cameron: and I volunteer a lot
[2:22:42 PM] Heather Cameron: no need for medication or any aide
[2:22:45 PM] Alex: thats awesome
[2:23:03 PM] Alex: very admirable
[2:23:03 PM] Heather Cameron: yup
[2:23:26 PM] Heather Cameron: social sitations are challenging, though
[2:23:35 PM] Alex: I can see that
[2:24:01 PM] Heather Cameron: so if I get a little nuts sometimes, just kinda gently calm me down
[2:24:14 PM] Heather Cameron: instead of cussing, getting frustrated, and all that crap.
[2:24:25 PM] Alex: If thats the case I will send you a side message letting you know
[2:24:34 PM] Heather Cameron: okay
[2:24:46 PM] Heather Cameron: negative reactions make it worse.
[2:24:53 PM] Alex: I can imagine
[2:25:24 PM] Heather Cameron: i hope I'm not any less valuable to you guys now that you know.
[2:25:34 PM] Alex: of course not,
[2:25:59 PM] Alex: its not your fault that you have ADHD or NVLD
[2:26:48 PM] Alex: I think that as long as you make a concious effort to not freak out when we say some things like "fiesta" or "losers" then we can all coexist more peacefully and just talk things out
[2:27:03 PM] Alex: its just about making sure everyone is comfortable enough, and we all live in peace
[2:27:27 PM] Heather Cameron: okay
[2:27:32 PM] Heather Cameron: I gotta go to church.
[2:27:42 PM] Alex: enjoy the service!
