Last night was pretty emotional with two amazing iSurv1vor players going home. With as exciting as it was on Agamemnon to see the tides turn and Fei and Chris save themselves, it was just really sad to see Kurtis go. He's such an amazing player and he brings so much to the game with all his positive characteristics, he's so smart, strategic, charming, funny, and just a great person and I'm so sad to lose that. I was really really hoping that him and Joe Purcell would make the big game and would team up again, so I'm sad that won't happen.
What an emotional night on Remus. I can't imagine how hard it would be to be on a tribe with all your best friends. Super sad to see Jacob go, another amazing player and he just has such a positive spirit and attitude about everything. I was on his call with Allan right when the results were posted, and it was heartbreaking to hear him say bye to Allan. I'm so sad that he is voted out so soon, but I'm glad that he was able to play and get a completely new experience in this game than he did in Haiti.
Remus is interesting now. While initially it seemed as Alex was the next boot, I think it's actually Allan now. He was (rightfully) so upset with Joe Purcell and Sassy after they lied to him. He was convinced they were so close that they would never lie to him. And so after results, he didn't hide his emotion. I think the fact he was so transparent about that has made him the next boot, in the super unfortunate event that they lose yet again. I don't blame him for being upset with them though- I wouldn't be able to hold that in either. Having your two best friends lie to you in a game has got to suck big time.
On Agamemnon, one thing I found interesting was how a big reason they targeted Kurtis was because they thought that he would flip on them at the merge and go back to the Hades people. They are convinced that Hades was a tight-knit group that wants to get back together. I find this funny because out of the 3 original tribes, Hades is the one that is the most split up lol. Nicole and Dave don't want to go back to them and Jared is totally done with them. Debbie will likely follow Jared, so really it's just Joe Purcell and Alex on their own now. But I guess they have nothing else to base their knowledge on other than the information about the original Hades 6 person alliance.

Bummed to see both Kurtis and Jacob snuffed in the same round. BRUTAL. I never paid much attention to Haiti, but I was loving Jacob's videos this season. So much awesome positive energy. And Kurtis is Kurtis, another hilarious epic character. Meeting him in CA last month put him in greater context for me since I also didn't pay much attention to Mexico. Two awesome guys, gone, just like that.
And I'm ~still~ reeling in the wake of HLC too . . .
Rooting for Allan to make it deep in this game! I'd hate to see another high double-digit number added to his resume. Would Sassy actually vote him out? They seemed so close when I hung out with her in both Vancouver and CA! We were Skyping with him for such a long time. Weird. This game is weird. So much more real and personal and messed up.
I'm hanging out with Britti this weekend as #RunningTo returns to Canada, so she better not be voted out by then.
I can't wait to help her with stay-up-all-night challenges as we bake cookies in the background.

I cant say I am sad to Kurtis go... not a fan of him at all. Not a fan of his ego, not a fan of the pedestal that he has been placed upon in the iSurv1vor community. Glad he is gone... maybe it will humble him a bit. He just rubbed me the wrong way a few times in alumni chat before All Stars and I am just not a fan. Respect him as a person, teachers are awesome... but as a player... hes annoying.
Sad to see Jacob go though! I missed this round so I dont know what really happen... and I will probably miss episode 5 as well, so I apologize in advance. All of my camp staff left me to go back to school, so i am working 12 hour days and applying for a new teaching job... which will take up most of my time this week... but I am following along. Always a good time writing a letter of interest while confessionals play in the background!
Once this weekend is over...I'll be back, full force!

With all these people rubbing each other the wrong way in the alumni chat, it is a good thing I only show up once in a while for a cameo. At least that way I won't fall out of love with this community .

With regards to Kurtis leaving, I think it was a smart move. With Kurtis you know he is dangerously charismatic enough to rope more people in under his thumb the longer he stays in the game. He also tries to hide his threat status by half-assing challenges because he knows that ue can still do well in a merge with numbers against him - so he is never going to be a tribal asset. He is a fantastic player, but he is not a team player. I would have probably made the same choice had I played with him.
As I mentioned in the Jacob iS Live interview, I am sad to see him gone. From his very first video of the season where he psyched himself up by yelling along with the song playing in his car, I knew he was going to be one of my favourites this season. It was almost as if he created a super spy storyline for himself, where is objectives were:
Infiltrate the iS community of all stars Assimilate and integrate into their clique Befriend others who also seem a little alienated Hide in their shadow until the time is right Strike! Ride it out to the end
I would have voted out Joe Purcell this round, purely because he is the only three timer who has not yet felt the sting of being voted out. He has had a lot more iS fun than the rest of them. His physical game is also starting to show signs of weakness and I feel that outside of endurance challenges, Jacob (although unsuccessful this season) is a slightly better challenge performer. Challenge prowess is exactly what Remus needs right now.

It was almost as if he created a super spy storyline for himself, where is objectives were: Infiltrate the iS community of all stars Assimilate and integrate into their clique Befriend others who also seem a little alienated Hide in their shadow until the time is right Strike! Ride it out to the end This was a very similar strategy I used in HvV - the Heroes were exceptionally tight in their pairs and you had to assimilate into something. The problem with Kurtis' game this season was he should have proved his strength because (and no matter how many times it's said, nobody listens) SMALL NUMBER TRIBES REQUIRE STRONG PLAYERS! By not exposing his hand, he exposed his hand and that began the descent to his vote off. And again, not to repeat, but Allan is a poison. He is now the only person to not win an Immunity Challenge, he's been to the most TCs and he's a vote magnet. The only person who is closest to him in terms of sucking is Alex because that kid doesn't have a clue what's going on and is being an emotional wreck right now. Remus will continue to lose as long as Allan is in the frame, Sassy won't latch onto that sinking ship and I figured she would have in the Jacob TC but that proves that she's actually developing an individual mindset and she's doing a very effective job of protecting her own game. Dru is "leading" the Romulus tribe at the moment which Jared and Joanne find hilarious, there seems to be an alliance being built around the Idol with Jared, Jo and Taylor but how valid that will be remains to be seen. This round will definitely expose some of the quieter players and lazier ones as well, with Derek obligated to compete in the upcoming IC he needs to pull his finger out, not be on auto-pilot and prove his worth on Achilles. Should Remus lose again, I can definitely see the tribes being switched up into two tribes of ten and then do a battle royale til the merge. Still no development on this returning player twist that is being thrown around but Kyle & Heather are still logging in and there's no signs of the others so maybe there's a pair of booted players coming back? Maybe HLC and Kyle will face off against Kurtis & Jacob? Who knows, it's all speculation.

At least that way I won't fall out of love with this community . cant fall out of love with the winner of Shipwrecked, Season 1! The best season by far... season 3 started a bit ago and died the first round... the alumni section just isn't the same anymore! Maybe it was Joe Purcell winning season 2 that was a big turn off... who knows?

Ok, I think with Kurtis leaving was bittersweet as he was playing a little too hard at times, as for Jacob.. I think he was shocked to see him torched snuffed, because he was the recent winner. Allan and Sassy are going to try and take over the game soon. That's all I see for now.

As much as it pains my heart to say this, Joe Purcell will not make the end of this game. He has too many people against him. It's really unfortunate because I can't help but take it personal that people want him out. I know he's a 2 time finalist and obviously it's totally justified that people want to vote him out. But this whole "army" thing against him is hard to watch because I know it would hurt his feelings if he knew just how many people have wanted him out since before the season even began. I think he just wants people to give him a chance, but they are just dismissing the thought of working with him before even being on his tribe. It sucks he's in this situation though. Sure he messed up choosing his tribe, but then continuously losing and now lying to Allan....Blah. As soon as merge comes (or another tribe switch) he's target #1. Hopefully there will be some people who realize this and keep him around as a buffer, otherwise he really has no hope.
Sending him all my good vibes though. Love him so so much.

Is there an actual Army? Who're the members? When this did happen? Until something is confirmed and there's an agreement then it's all smoke and mirrors.
What's not to say that taking Joe to the end is completely justifiable? Yes he made the end game but you have to remember that the first time there wasn't any real competition (by his own admission) because he had the good people on lock and the second time around when he did have competition he tanked the FTC against Animal, somebody who Joe knew would beat him.
Right now Joe is playing a good game, there's no doubt in my mind that his game is incredibly adaptable and he's proving it. By making him an immediate target would be wrong for everybody's game, no one really cares if he made finals twice because (as I've said) he tanked his last FTC so his credibility is somewhat tarnished. If anything, the players are more concerned about protecting their own assets right now and if they're planning 3-4 rounds ahead then they're not going to make it that far.
In the event Joe is targeted, it will more than likely be a spur of the moment dealio. And he's hardly proving himself as a strong player since Remus sucks balls.

Rob idk if you've been watching confessionals, but Dave, Nicole, Nikki, Dru, Jared, Joanne and Taylor have all at one point or another said that they want to take down Joe Purcell. He has a lot of people after him. And of course I think that people should want to take him to the end. I'm just saying how I think other people feel, and I think it's a justifiable reason that they want him gone because he's made the end twice. Whether he had awful competitors or his heart got in the way, he still made the end twice.
Of course I agree with you that Joe Purcell is adaptable and a great player. However, based on the amount of people who have specifically said they want to take down Joe Purcell, I think he has a steep uphill battle.

But that's not an indication of an army, I know you're a fan of him but he's not the only big target out here. Yes he made the finals twice but by two very different ways and two incredibly polarising outcomes.
I just don't see an army purposely coming together to take out one player, it's too much build up and if anything the hype about it will supersede what is executed. If there is one then rational thinking has been tossed aside.
Let it be known as well that Lorii was a consistently amazing player in FVF but never once was there talk of an uprising against her, nobody cared that this was her third try - people in the game are smarter than that to focus on one person who they might interact with down the line if they make it that far and if he does too.
It's all hype. Joe will probably be voted out, but he's hardly being superman right now.

Going to let you guys in on a little something. If Joe Purcell does have a bunch of people against him, then it might be from his pre-gaming. From what I heard, Joe was pre-gaming nearly as hard as Ricky. From way before the game even started it was Ricky against Joe. Sassy told me that Ricky was planning to target Joe ASAP and Joe was also being unbearably paranoid and trying to rally people to take out Ricky ASAP and would constantly talk game. I know Audrey was supposedly with Ricky and then she was also having side chats with Alex Rico who was supposedly playing all sides. It was just a mess from what I heard.
To be honest, it all made me happy I was not playing at one stage. I have barely any time as it is, and I wouldn't have been able to devote myself to the paranoid rantings of a bunch of crazy people over the internet for a month before the game was even suposed to have started. It all just seemed exhausting.
If this is all true and not taken out of context, then Joe Purcell has himself to blame as much as Ricky does for the taget he created for himself. If you are pre-gaming as much as that then I don't care how well you played in the past, but you are making a huge dumbass mistake. From what I am seeing, I can kinda believe this all just based on names and sides matching information I received. It would also not surprise me if the pre-gamers spread rumours and twisted truths in order to solidify alliances and it snowballed from there.
Beds were made and now it is time to lie in them...

I know there's lots of targets, I know tons of people in this cast are threats. I am solely going off by what I've heard from confessionals, I'm not pretending he's the biggest threat just because he's my friend. I wish he wasn't a target so he would stay around longer! If you watch these peoples confessionals they specifically pinpoint him as the person they want out. Whether that's his fault or not, it's just the fact. And trust me, I don't think they need to come together to take him out either. I'm not supporting the idea at all. It's just what I'm observing. I'm really not trying to come across like "Oh Joe Purcell is the best player and he's so amazing for making the finals twice that everyone should want him out because he's the best." I honestly am just watching these people's confessionals and am listening to them repeatedly say "I want Joe Purcell gone."

I completely get what you are saying, Kirin, and I hear you - but what I am saying is that these people most likely want him gone because of all the drama that transpired before the game began, rather than because of how he played before. When you are picking sides and throwing names around before the game begins, people are going to hear about it and their instincts will be to protect themselves against the person/people "threatening" their game.
